Logging on to the Server
To receive credit for your lab assignments, you need to save them on the avc server. Follow the directions below to log on.
• On
the desktop, find the menu at the top and select
Go > Connect to Server.
• A dialogue box will pop up. In the address field, type
in
“studentavc.uvsc.edu”. Then click the Connect button.
• Another dialogue box will pop up, asking you for a user name and a password. Type in the user name as shown in figure 2. Type in the password that Jim has given to you. Click Connect.
• Yet another (and final) dialogue box will appear, asking which volume you would like to mount. Select documents as shown below.
• Click OK. The icon shown to the left will show up on your desktop. You can double click on the icon to open it and save documents to the server or copy documents from it.
